Akademie SFFH filmů (The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films) oznámila 34. nominace na každoroční ceny Saturn (33. nominace Saturnů). Letos kraluje s deseti nominacemi snímek 300: Bitva u Thermopyl těsně následovaný pátým Harry Potterem s devíti nominacemi a Ďábelským holičem Sweeney Toddem s osmi nominacemi. Dalším fantastickým snímkům dominují se čtyřmi nominacemi Zlatý kompas, Třetí Piráti z Karibiku a Spider-Man 3. Oproti minulému roku si Warner Bros. se svými filmy polepšil na 23 nominací, v těsném závěsu následován Paramountem s 22 nominovanými celovečeráky (kombinace společností Paramount, DreamWorks/Paramount a Paramount Vantage). Standard si udržuji další filmová studia jako Buena Vista (10 nom.) nebo Sony Pictures (9 nom.).

V televizních kategoriích bodují Ztraceni (7 nom.), Dexter (5 nom.) a Heroes (4 nom.). Akademici udělili také dvě speciální ceny. Guillermo del Toro získal kýženou George Pal Memorial Award. Spisovatel Tim Lucas získal zvláštní cenu za zásluhy za jeho knihu Mario Bava: All the Colors of the Dark.

Letošní předávání proběhne v úterý 24. června 2008 v Universal City, Kalifornie.
