Objevilo se nám opět několik nominací na zahraniční literární ceny (na ty domácí se určitě také zaměříme, pokud si pořadatelé vzpomenou, že by se mohli sami prezentovat ;-)). Včera jsme si připomenuli Campbellovu a Sturgeonovu cenu, dnes se zaměříme na kanadskou, nesoucí název Aurora. Udílení tohoto ocenění je zhruba stejně staré jako náš národní con. Již od roku 1980 se kanadští fanové uvolili volit ta nejvýznačnější fantastická díla. Připomeňme si, že římské jméno Aurora (jitřenka, odvozeno od řecké bohyně Éós) se v Čechách nestalo příliš používaným, přesto vyjadřuje mnoho asociácí - s křižníkem toho jména, nakladatelstvím, dokonce s plánem Evropské kosmické agentury na robotický a případně i pilotovaný průzkum Měsíce a Marsu. Nespornou zajímavostí této ceny je zajisté také její duplicita, neboť většina cen je udělována pro práci v angličtině a francouzštině. Už i u nás se začínají objevovat tendence, že některé méně význačné soutěže musí být vyloženě v národním jazyce, ať už Čechů nebo Slováků. Nezbývá než dodat, že se výsledky dozvíme nedlouho po slavnostním vyhlášení na Toronto Treku 20, uspořádaného v Torontu mezi 7. a 9. červencem 2006. Přeji příjemné seznámení s kanadskou SFFH.
